Who We Are
We Heart Veterans, a local non-profit, in conjunction with VetAttend, helps Veterans and their Widows:
- Obtain non-medical home care services to improve their quality of life
- Bring local and national attention to the problem our Veterans face every day
- Help Veterans receive local and State awards to show them our appreciation for their sacrifice.

Guest Appearance “Helping Heroes” Gala
We are so excited!!! Miss Louisiana United States 2015, Sara Blanche Comiskey, will be our Special Guest at this year’s “Helping Heroes” Gala! Miss Comiskey is actively involved in community events, such as Breast Cancer Awareness, Baton Rouge Special Olympics, Baton Rouge Miracle Network Hospital, Marine Toys for Tots Slidell, and Anti-Bullying Prevention Programs. Having a heart for Veterans, Miss Comiskey is excited for an opportunity to help with our mission of “Serving Those Who Served.”

Louisiana Veterans Festival
Mark your calendars for Saturday, May 16th to attend the Louisiana Veterans Festival. This year’s event is hosted by the East St. Tammany Habitat for Humanity. Come show your support for our Veterans and all their did for our country!

New Auction Item for Gala!!!
Jimmy Toups is an award-winning artist with pieces owned by collectors around the country, including 3 foreign countries; Belgium, Japan, and Canada. His work has been displayed in temporary exhibitions, and has several pieces on permanent displace in several museums.
He is a sculpture specializing in waterfowl carved in wood. In 2009 he became a waterfowl artist, creating originals in pencil. To date, he has created 10 thus far, with an 11th completed of a Bald Eagle (currently for sale).
Jimmy Toups, from Schriever, Louisiana, has been a supporter of our military, and Veterans as far back as he can remember. His ties go deep: his father was a Korean War Veteran as a member of the Big Red One, and amphibious forces; his best friend and pastor was a highly decorated soldier serving in the Vietnam War; his 5th great grandfather, General Philip Schyler, was one of the 4 major generals in the Revolutionary War under General George Washington! He also served in the Continental Congress, and then a U S Senator for New York. “My patriotism and roots go back to the founding of our country… just to let you know why my heart is for our Vets!!!! “
